The reconstruction of the deposed eagle of the Maine Monument constitutes the restoration of an imperial symbol. But their multiplication and the intervention of «popular» or mainstream artists, in them, in the form of the «United Buddy Bears. The Art of Tolerance» which toured the world from 2002 to 2015; updates the image of an allegory that in the Cuban context, with the establishment of relations between our island and the United States, is vital, and generates a kind of ambiguous readings about the political future of the country.
